Sweet dumplings are an indulgent dessert treat/delightful snack where by gooey dough balls are cooked in hot oil and then coated with sweet syrup. Apart from tasting heavenly, they are also very easy to make.

Sweet Dumplings
Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose/plain flour
- 1 level tsp. instant yeast
- ½ cup yogurt
- a little water
- 1 tbsp. ghee or butter
For Sugar Syrup:
- 1 cup sugar
- ½ tsp. powdered cardamom
- ½ cup water
- Lemon rinds (optional)

Sweet Dumplings
Directions:
- Boil all the syrup ingredients and set aside to cool completely
- Mix the flour with all the above ingredients and mix thoroughly with your hands. It should be thick enough not to be runny, but not so thick that it’s a dough.
- Cover and allow it to rise for about an hour.
- Touch some oil with your fingertips and mix the mixture again.
- Heat your oil, then pick small portions and drop in the hot oil, then lower the heat and fry on very low heat, stirring the dumplings continuously so that they cook on all sides and get super crunchy.
- Remove from the heat and place directly into the cooled sugar syrup.
- Serve and enjoy!
