Fried chicken tenders are a type of chicken dish consisting of small, thin strips of chicken breast coated in a mixture of flour, spices, and often buttermilk, and then deep-fried until crispy and golden brown.
They are typically served as a snack or appetizer, but can also be served as a main dish, particularly when paired with sides such as mashed potatoes, coleslaw, or mac and cheese
How to make the perfect crispy fried chicken tenders
To prepare place the chicken tenders in a bowl, pour hot sauce on the chicken, add eggs, sprinkle Goya seasoning, and use your hand to mix everything together.
In the same bowl, add a cup of club soda and all-purpose flour then mix everything together using your hand. Once done, cover the bowl with saran wrap and refrigerate for about 30 minutes — 1 hour.
Remove the chicken from the fridge and set aside. In a bowl with a lid, pour two cups of all-purpose flour. Next, you’re going to add onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, and black pepper. Mix it up together with the flour to combine.
Now grab the chicken tenders and place them into the flour. Cover the bowl with a lid and shake to make sure the chicken is well coated with the flour. Uncover the bowl, remove the chicken and repeat for all the remaining chicken.
Heat the oil in a deep fryer or large pot until it reaches 350°F. Carefully add the coated chicken tenders to the hot oil and fry them for about 6 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
As they’re frying give the chicken tenders a toss to make sure the chicken is cooked evenly. Remove the tenders from the oil with a slotted spoon and drain them on a paper towel-lined plate.
For the sauce, melt butter in a skillet, add garlic, and fry for about 30 seconds, add honey followed by soy sauce, and stir to mix. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes and your honey garlic sauce will be ready.
