A few tips when making Chocolate Brownies
Do not over-bake! This is important because if you over-bake your brownies won’t be fudgy and moist.
Remember to use a toothpick to check for doneness. Make sure there are some crumbs stuck to the toothpick. You can check after 25 minutes of baking.
Ingredients
- 1 cup (200g/ 7Oz) granulated sugar
- 1 cup (200g/ 7Oz) brown sugar, lightly packed
- 3 eggs room temperature
- 3/4 cup (75g/ 2.6Oz) cocoa powder
- 1 cup (120g/ 4.2Oz) flour
- 1 teaspoon (6g/ 0.2Oz) salt
- 1.5 cup (260g/ 9.2Oz) dark chocolate chips
- 1 cup (225g/ 7.9Oz) melted butter, unsalted
- 1 tbsp coffee 15ml
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract 15ml
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and prep an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and coffee then mix together well.
- Add the white and brown sugars to the mixture and whisk together well.
- Sift cocoa powder, flour, and salt into the bowl and mix until just combined then toss in chocolate chips or chunks and fold into the batter.
- Add batter to pan and smooth to the edges. You can add more chocolate chips to the top before baking if desired.
- Bake for about 25-30 minutes or until the center is just set.
