This simple eggless chocolate cake is soft, moist, dark, decadent, and incredibly delicious. It is super easy and quick to prepare anytime to fulfill your chocolate cravings.

You can enjoy the cake plain as is, or smother some chocolate ganache for that extra lusciousness.

  • 1+ ½ cup (180 grams / 6.3Oz) All-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup (75 grams / 2.6Oz) cocoa powder
  • ¾ cup (175ml) of vegetable oil
  • 1 + ¼ (250 grams / 8.8Oz) cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup (245 grams / 8.6Oz) yoghurt
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • ½ tsp. baking soda
  • ¼ cup milk

Chocolate ganache:

  • 2 cups chopped chocolate
  • 1 cup fresh cream

  1. In a mixing bowl, add in the oil and sugar. Beat together until the mixture becomes light and pale.
  2. Add in the yogurt and mix until well combined.
  3. In the same bowl, sift in all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, a pinch of salt, baking powder, and baking soda.
  4. Mix everything together until you have a smooth batter, mix just until all the dry ingredients are moistened then add in milk and mix it well.
  5. Transfer your batter to a microwave-safe dish, oiled and lined with parchment paper.
  6. Cook this in the microwave for about 6 minutes.
  7. Once baked, allow the cake to cool on a wire rack.
  8. Melt the chopped chocolate and fresh cream until smooth then coat the cake with the ganache, allow it to sit for about 10 minutes before slicing.
  9. Serve and enjoy.
